I updated to the newer Cortana build of windows 10 this December I was using defer upgrade for about a month or so. I'm on classic shell 4.2.5 and when I right click an open program on my taskbar I no longer get the menu with Close and other options. There's a new black menu when right clicking the taskbar. Just did some more testing and Right click start button, shift click does nothing. There seems to no longer be a windows start menu just classic shell maybe it's in my settings somewhere. |

It looks like some Metro UI functionality like jumplists, right click and Windows 10 menu broke on your system after the OS upgrade. Whatever Windows 10 functionality is not working like its menus not opening - you can be 100% sure that Classic Shell is not responsible for that but the OS upgrade broke that. You can try to open Classic Start Menu Settings by clicking Start and searching for it. Go to Controls tab and make sure Shift click is set to open either Windows menu or Classic menu. You can verify that Classic Shell didn't break it by temporarily exiting Classic Start Menu by right clicking or Shift+right clicking the Start button and choosing Exit. You need to contact Microsoft for Windows 10 related issues. I would recommend you to move back to Windows 7 since that is a reliable OS. |
