i was decided to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" in folder options to look around on my computer, i see the lock icon on desktop, any cause on this? before it wasn't like that ![]() |

You see two desktop.ini files because one belongs to you and the other is shared between all users. I believe the lock means that either you can't access that file or other users can't access that file. Not sure which. It has something to do with the access protection of the file. |

The lock icon means that the file is private for your user account (not shared on the network and not shared with other local user accounts on your PC). Here's how to remove the Lock icon on files and folders in Windows 7: http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-remove-t ... windows-7/ The lock icon is harmless and Classic Shell has nothing to do with it. You can ignore it or delete the Desktop.ini file too. In Windows 8 and later, the lock overlay icon is removed. |
