Hi Ivo, when for the start button you use a custom image, which is a bit higher than the height of the taskbar, then when you open the start menu, the button correctly is displayed on top of it, so that the menu does not cut it off. However, this is not working correctly for the menu of pinned apps: The Start button is not layered above the menu of pinned apps, but instead is incorrectly layered below these menus. Basically the top part of the start button is then hidden below the menu, which looks ugly. Since an image tells more than 1000 words, this image will make clear, what I mean: http://fs1.directupload.net/images/150812/sylc6yf6.png I am aware that this is only a cosmetical issue and apart from that a very minor one, but trying to make your program really kind of perfect, I wanted to report it. |

Oh you mean the jumplist in Windows 10. |

That's a context menu. Menus appear above all else, including the start button. For example, when you right-click on the start button, its context menu will be above the button. |

Yeah, so how can it be changed that the button is above the menu? I think I never had this glitch in Windows 8, (maybe because the taskbar has a slightly bigger height there?). Anyway, this should affect all users, who use a button,which is higher than the taskbar - if I remember correctly, Classic Shell should support that!

In Windows 8, jumplists appeared at a distance few pixels away from the Taskbar which is why they didn't overlap part of the button. Windows 10 changed the style of the jumplist. If you find it ugly, you can go to the "Start button" tab in Classic Start Menu settings and adjust the "Button Size" setting to make it fit slightly inside the Taskbar. |

It would be wrong for the start button to appear on top of the menu. It will obscure the information the menu is trying to display. |

Thanks for your feedback, guys! GauravK, when I set the size of the start button to 56 pixels, then it fits into the taskbar and it will no longer look over the top. This workaround prevents the button from being cut off. Ivo, sure, if the button is really hugh, then it can hide stuff below it. But as you can see in the screenshot, with the few pixels you have with the default settings, this is not a problem. I like how the button peaks into the start menu; having it leap over slightly into the menu is a nice visual effect. However, when it gets cut off, this is not so nice. It would be great, if it was possible to get the best of both worlds... |

I have again checked that on a Windows 8.1 system and there the start button does _not_ overlap. I have for now made the start button smaller so that it fits again. |
