Hi - I have had Classic Shell 4.1.0 running on my 1 month old W8.1 laptop and today updated it to 4.2.1. Upon initial installation 1946 warnings pop up. Same thing happens when I run the installer again and pick "repair."

Attached are screenshots of the warnings.

As far as I can tell, things work fine with 4.2.1 ... but I just installed it so I can't tell for sure.

Any ideas why these warnings keep popping up?

These errors are not serious, you can ignore them. They just mean that some properties could not be set on the shortcuts the installer creates.

They shouldn't be occurring on Windows 8.1 though, only on Windows 7.

OK, thanks. I have not noticed any glitches in how 4.2.1 is working so far, so it does appear to be a very minor thing. However, I can imagine others installing this on W8.1 will also see these warnings like I did and be concerned.

In case it matters, this system is not an upgrade from W8 or W7. It came with W8.1 right out of the box.
