i updated my HP Stream 7 running win 8.1 on 3/13/15 and my apps flicker then vanish back into the task bar minimized. i had to go to system recovery and bsck up to resolve the issue. i now have 54 updates wanting to install but cannot for fear of losing functionality again. |

Do you suspect the problem is caused by Classic Shell? |

i have nothing to say that but i figured because its having to do with the display classic shell sets up there is a conflict between the microsoft update and classic shell. |

You can launch apps from the start screen and then Classic Shell will not be involved at all. If you do that and have the same problem, then it has something to do with your Windows. |
