Post subject:  Refresh icon (Manual folder icon)

hi, all.

I was wondering: is it possible to add a "refresh" feature to classic shell? My reason is because I would like to change all the folder icons together by highlighting all in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs", right-click on properties, customize, and change icon in folder icons. So i was wondering if i could do this myself (manually)? What do y'all think?

My start menu currently looks like this (see picture). If not the simple method above, does anyone know how I may change the icons in this current system?

Best,

KayT

Are you saying that you changed the icon of a folder but the start menu still shows the old icon?

yes, ivo.

so, that's why i am asking for a "right-click and refresh" for classic shell -- and maybe an auto-refresh at start-up, if possible.

It should work automatically. If it doesn't, clear the icon cache:
Right-click on the start button and select Exit
Go to the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\ClassicShell
Delete the file DataCache.db
Log off, log in

Let me know if that fixes it.
