Post subject: | Classic Shell Bug |
Hi classic shell team, i have a classic shell version 3.6.7, whenever it checks the new version, it somehows 'restart' my desktop (not the whole computer/laptop) and some of my task bar icons will disappear. and somehow i notice when this event will occur, my system restore configuration changes for ex. i set my system restore limit to 8% it will become 50%. This is only thing i notice, and i would like to ask if anyone has an idea on what else does this kind of event changes on your laptop/computer. Tnx classic shell team. |

What you are describing sounds like a crash in Explorer. Instead of checking for new version, download the new version manually from www.classicshell.net and install it. |

Nothing in the check for new version should affect Explorer or the system configuration. However because the version you are using is 2 years old, I recommend you upgrade to the latest. If you have problems with it as well they will be easier to troubleshoot than with 3.6.7. |

Why is it when the classic shell explorer crash, it changes the settings of my system restore, any idea how can classic shell do this? I was thinking it could change my system restore settings, and it is possible that my other settings will be changed? Thanks in advance. |

There should be no connection at all between explorer and the restore settings. Maybe you are trying to use a value that is out of range and the system adjusts it to a different value. It just happens to coincide with the crash. |

Well, it is not supposed to change anything. Of course it is possible to have some indirect connection between your system behavior and the presence of Classic Shell (or any software for that matter). However I have not received reports of a similar problem before. |
