Hi Classic Shell People,

I've got a repeatable explorer.exe crash on my hands that I believe is related to classicshell. The crash occurs seemingly at random while browsing files, but I can recreate it nearly every time by browsing to C:\Windows\System32 then holding the pagedown key to scroll through the long list of files (in detail view). Usually within a second or so the crash occurs. Here are the details:

Explorer.exe exception code 0xC000041D
Faulting module: MSVCR100.dll

Crash dump captured with procdump.exe is attached.

When this began I slowly started disabling explorer shell extensions, and only by unloading Classic Shell was the crashing alleviated. I realize this isn't a smoking gun, given that removing any extension might just shift things on the heap enough to prevent a crash, but so far this is the only lead I've got. The only major change I've recently made to the system was replacing Visual Studio 2010 with 2013.

Relevant system details:
Classic Shell 4.1.0 (only classic explorer installed)
Windows 7 SP1

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Classic Shell doesn't appear to be running.
The crash is in C:\Program Files\Synergy\synwinxt.dll

sorry for hijacking, hope this is q relatively quick q to answer...
How do you know?

If there's a guide to debugging the heap or something somewhere you can point me to, that'd be swell.

I've just noticed this issue crop, and the false flag red herring chase msvcr100.dll led me on finally brought me to this syn....dll

It's been resident on many of my builds for some time, never noticed any bugs.. until recently. perhaps an app conflict, I'm thinking.
Amazing that the fix doesn't impeded use of the application...

Quick side q? Does anyone know what this shell extension is meant to be doing, when it's not bringing the shell explorer crashing to it's knees?

Many, many thanks
