Post subject:  Some Windows 7 visual-type settings no longer cooperate

After the installation of Classic Shell 4.1.0, certain Windows 7 Pro visual settings do not respect my wishes. So far, I have discovered that,

1) unchecking "Store and display recently opened programs in the Start Menu" still displays recently opened programs.

2) unchecking "Highlight newly installed programs" still highlights programs in Start Menu\Programs.

I have tried checking these options, applying, then unchecking them again and applying. It did not help.

Misc. questions:

1) Any way to move the "Show Desktop" back to where the Stat button is?
2) Any way to bring back the classic quick launch?
3) Any way to bring back Win95 icons for, "My Computer", "Trash", and "Network"?
4) Any way to set the desktop icon size to WinXP standard sizes?
5) Any way to force Windows Explorer to view everything as a "list"

Suggestions:
Implement time-machine flags which adjust all the settings for the base installation of: Win95, Win98SE, WinNT, etc. "Make my computer look and feel just like WinNT 4.0".

Classic Shell has its own settings and does not follow Windows settings. You must turn off recent programs and highlighting by right clicking the Start Button -> Settings. The settings window has a search box so you can type: 'recent' or 'highlighting' there to find the appropriate Classic Start Menu setting.

1. How to move Show Desktop button next to Start button: http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-bring-ba ... e-taskbar/
2. How to bring back classic Quick Launch: http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-enable-q ... ndows-8-1/
3. Run this command: control desk.cpl,,web and change the icons you want.
4. Right click an empty area of the Desktop and choose View menu -> Small icons.
5. How to set a folder view in Explorer for all folders: http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-set-a-folder-view-in-explorer-for-all-folders-list-details-tiles-small-or-large-icons/

What you propose - "Time machine flags" are not possible because Windows settings are not changed by Classic Shell. It is an independent program. :)
