Even with this new version, I am getting a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED BSOD upon restart, after installation, under Windows 8.1 Thanks |

BSOD usually indicates a problem with a driver. Software like Classic Shell don't have the ability to cause such problems. Also, when you say "even with this new version", does that mean previous versions of Classic Shell were causing a similar issue? BTW, is this 32-bit or 64-bit? |

@Troglodyte, you can download Nirsoft's BlueScreenView tool to troubleshoot BSODs: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Also you can be 100% sure that Classic Shell does not cause serious errors because BSODs can only be caused by drivers or kernel mode software. |

I too just installed the latest 4.x update and now my computer is sitting with a blue screen and no tasks running. Everything was fine before I installed the update. What gives? Sitting here thinking there's definitely something wrong with the update file here guys. |

@neillund, Is it an empty blue screen with nothing written on it or a blue screen with some error details? Meaning is it a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or just a blue screen background due to Explorer.exe not being loaded? |

Sometimes when you upgrade to a new version Explorer fails to restart. It is best to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and sign out from there. Then log in and everything should be working. |
