Hi, there.
I had to uninstall Classic Shell 4.0.4 (which I'd installed on top of 4.0.2). Am now having trouble
reinstalling 4.0.4.
As instructed, I used Add/Remove Programs to uninstall Classic Shell (first hiding the Windows Explorer toolbar), then rebooted.
But when I try to reinstall 4.0.4, I get two error messages:
1. The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'ClassicShellSetup64_4_0_0.msi' in the box below.
2. The older version of Classic Shell cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.
The regedit solution detailed here looked promising:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1616&hilit=uninstallingHowever, when I go into regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products, there's no key named:
B0951AEFA045CF149AC56644398CA212
Is there a different key name for version 4.0.4? (Or, if I need it, a different key name for v. 4.0.2?)
Kind thanks for your help.
