Hello,

New on the forum but have had classic shell maybe a year? Recently did a fresh installation of Windows 7 64-bit and have noticed that the All Programs sub-menu does not use the custom shell that is provided in the options. It always uses either a white background or a gray background depending on the option selected in the Menu Look tab, but ignores any options selected in the All Programs Skin. Tried uninstalling 4.04 and installed 4.02 with the same issue. Had not had this problem with the previous version i was running. Am I missing something in any of the options? Screenshot attached as file.

Are you sure you are using the Windows 7 menu? Maybe you are using the Classic Shell menu with the Windows 7 style. It is hard to see from your screenshot.
If so, you need to edit the Skin settings, not the All Programs Skin settings.

I have all my settings set to the Windows Aero Style.
Was the All Programs sub-menu having the ability to be skinned dropped in the update to 4.02 cause I remember having it a earlier 3.# version.
Zip file attached has three screenshots of settings tabs.

Also, I found that on the Start menu I have the Control Panel set to display as a menu with the "Categories set" instead of the full list. A screen shot included in the zip file shows this setting alongside the menu and that the Control Panel still shows as a menu with all items present.

The "All Programs skin" tab settings are for the original *Windows Start Menu*.

From your screenshot, it looks like it's the Classic Start Menu that is opening (because I see numbers to the left of the recent programs). To change the All programs skin for the Classic Start Menu, go to the "Skin" tab.

Please look at the zip file I posted after for more detailed views of my settings.

The settings don't matter. You are not using the Windows 7 start menu, which is what the All Programs Skin is for.

Ok, I think I found what confused me. In 3.6.8 the "Skin" tab had Full Glass and Other skins in that release. In 4.0.4 release the Skin tab only has 3 options: Classic, Win 8, & Win Aero. None of which have the glossy look applied to the sub-menu. Sorry. Hadn't realized this till I went back to the earlier version I had used. I guess I need to find a way to import the Full Glass Skin from 3.6.8 into 4.0.4, or just roll back to 3.6.8.

Thanks

In Classic Shell 4, there are 3 separate styles of the menu: Windows 7 style, Classic with two columns and Classic, which you can switch from the Menu Style tab. The skins vary depending on the style you select. If you select "Classic with two columns", you can use all the earlier skins you had in 3.x from the Skin tab. The Windows 7 style is new to Classic Shell 4.x and it has less skins available.

Oh, that explains a lot. Hadn't noticed that minor difference. Thanks.
