Post subject:  Hover highlight on Start Menu jumps around while moving mous

MY PC:

Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 Latest Updates
AMD FX-8320 CPU
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Video Card (Catalyst Video Driver 13.12)
Samsung 840 EVO SSD

Problem occurs with Classic Shell 4.0.2 and 4.0.4

When I have my Start Menu open, and move my mouse up and down the menu items on the right side, the highlight bar will jump around and flicker.

I'm not sure if this is a Classic Shell bug, or problem with my PC configuration. I have recently upgraded to a Samsung EVO SSD, and that's when I noticed the problem, though it could have existed prior to my SSD upgrade.

Any advice?

I posted a gif of the problem I'm experiencing...

This is normal. If you have a sub-menu opened, and you don't have the mouse over some item, then the parent item of the sub-menu will be selected.
So when the mouse is over a separator the opened menu (Network Connections in your example) will appear selected.

You can get a similar behavior with the original Windows 7 menu. Open a sub-menu, then hover over it with the mouse to get it highlighted, and then move the mouse away from the menu. You will see that the item will get highlighted again.

Yep, I opened a sub-menu, then moved the mouse up and down, sure enough the hover jump occurred.

Of course I happen to notice this after I install a new hard drive, and re-install my OS. So I was thinking it might have been a bad OS install or HDD.

Thanks for the response.
