Not too sure if this is a bug or not, but I thought I would check first.
Since installing the newest update (4.0.2) on Windows 8.1, I now get random "Preparing Windows" events during startup, almost like completing the 8.1 install. After this completes, it goes to the Metro Screen, with none of my programs visible. If I restart the PC, it goes straight to my normal desktop and carries on as normal.

Any ideas?

If the messages are on your logon screen, Classic Shell does nothing to do with that. However it should go to the Desktop. If it is not, open Taskbar Properties on Windows 8.1 and on the Navigation tab, enable option to boot to desktop. If the Start Menu is not loading every time, place a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe in your startup folder.
