Hi there,

I am on a Mac using Parallels. I have Windows 8.1. When I try to install Classic Shell (the latest version) I get an error message. I have uploaded a screen shot. Can someone please help me with this? Any help is much appreciated!

I don't have a Mac and I don't know how Parallels works. Does it try to simulate a local disk using a network path, or vice versa?
Does that path \\psf\Home\Desktop mean anything to you?

Unfortunately, I am not sure. I am only using this messed up set up because my office runs Macs, and we require Windows for a lot of the software we use (silly, right?).

Is there anything I can screen shot for you that may help with the diagnosis?

Nope, sorry. Without a hands-on access I don't see a way to figure out what that path is, why it is needed, or why it is missing.

Maybe somebody on this forum has successfully used a Mac and can chime in.

Thanks for responding anyways, hopefully someone here has done this before. Have a good one.

Try copying the installer to a location on the local hard drive such as the Desktop and then installing Classic Shell. You could also try this (reinstalling Parallels Tools is the recommended solution on the web): http://kb.parallels.com/en/114310. Anyways, this seems like a Parallels for Mac issue, you should ask in their support forums.
