Using the actual CS (thanks a lot!) with Win8.1 and "Win7 style" selected, my menu's program list contains MS Word 2007.
Moving the cursor over the entry the pinned and the recent documents are shown (as they should).

The bug:
- It's impossible to unpin entries.
- It's impossible to pin entries from the "recent" list.

ps. Can I clear the "pinned" list manually?

This pinned and recent list is called the jump list. The jumplist for Word 2007 may have got corrupted. See if you can pin and unpin items from Word's icon on the taskbar when Word is running. If you can't then try removing unpinning everything from the Taskbar jump list.

You can't as of Classic Shell 4.0.2, clear a jump list for programs individually. To clear all recent jump lists, right click Taskbar -> Properties -> Jump Lists tab and uncheck the option 'Store and display recent opened items in Jump Lists', click Apply and then it again, then click Apply again. Note that this resets jump lists for all programs.

Changing the jump list by the taskbar runs without any problem!
