Not sure if this has been reported yet. When selecting a Control Panel item, the status bar shows up with what looks like Korean text instead of the number of items. My language is set as US-English in the OS & also verified in Classic Shell. Number of items is reported ok in File Explorer.

Win8 Pro, Classic Shell 4.0

Weird, when I test I get "0 items".
Does it happen every time you open Windows Update?
Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?

32-bit Win 8. Happens on all Control Panel items that behave similar to Windows Update..ie switches to another screen rather than launching a new dialog. Funny thing is, I can see it say "0 items" for about 1/2 second as the screen is filling in, then switches to the Korean characters.

Let's try this:
1) Download the attached zip file
2) Go to the Classic Shell folder and rename the file ClassicExplorer32.dll to _ClassicExplorer32.dll
3) Extract the file ClassicExplorer32.dll from the zip file and put it in the Classic Shell folder
4) Log off, log in
5) Go to Windows Update again. Tell me the exact text that you see on the status bar

With the new DLL, it now says'0 items'. Opening "Programs & Features" says '18 items', which matches the number of items installed. When I restored back to the original DLL, the non-English characters came back.
