Hi,
Classic Shell doesn’t apply WU on ShutDown command.
One WU is waiting, but after several shutdowns, nothing happens.
What is the problem?
TNX!

Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/
Save a log file and send it to me.

When you press Alt+F4 on the desktop and get the Shutdown dialog box, do you see an item there for "Update and Restart" or is it just "Restart"?

Exactly. So even Windows doesn't think there is a need to install updates and restart. I don't know what makes this particular update so special, but it doesn't trigger the update behavior.

Windows will never download updates during shutdown. Download can potentially take a long time and you don't want your PC to be unusable for a long time.
The feature only works if you have automatic download or install of updates enabled. If there are any automatically downloaded updates they will be installed. If there are any automatically installed updates then a reboot might be required to complete them. If there are only "available" updates that are not downloaded yet, there's nothing to do.

I also see in your screenshot that the updates are managed by your admin. You may need to talk to him about changing the Windows Update settings.

@dzukela, the Start Menu doesn't itself do the job of checking for updates or installing them. It depends on a Windows function which notifies it and Windows 8's own shutdown mechanisms that updates are available. It may depend on updates already having been downloaded and ready to install and also on your Windows Update settings. If the system Alt+F4 dialog has Updates and Shutdown available, then the Start Menu will also show it.
