Just installed the new Classic Shell v4.0.2 - cured the issue perfectly!
And I really like the new setting to hide Metro apps from the Programs folder!

Windows 8 Pro x64 Classic Shell 4.0.0On my system, the Settings - Menu Look - Main menu width is ignored on values greater than 39. This was not an issue on Classic Shell v3.6.8. I have attempted changing the default of 60 to a range from 40 through 100 - no difference. Values of 39 and lower do narrow the Menu Width ... |

Which style of the menu are you using? |

The setting is just an upper limit. The menu will not get wider than the widest menu item. I just tried it with some very long item and it worked fine even with 100. |
