Hi, I am using a Win 8.1 x64 system and just installed classic shell 4.00. Whenever I am clicking on "Control Panel" in the classic shell app or just type a single character in the classic shell search box I get the following error:  Any ideas how to handle that ? Thanks. Greetz, Werner |

While the error is on screen, is the start menu responsive? Or is it frozen until you dismiss the error? Try both clicking on Control Panel and also searching. The behavior may be different. |

Thanks for the reply. In case of clicking the control panel the error-window is closing automatically and quite quickly (no freeze of classic shell and it is responsive), in case of typing in the seach box the error is permanent until it is dismissed (no freeze of classic shell in any case; always responsive). By the way, the error window is also coming up right after boot when the desktop is visible. No icons on the desktop until the eror is dismissed. Greetz, Werner |
