Classic Shell: Forum

Classic Shell, after being installed about 2 months, now no longer has the bottom task bar available OR the top bar where I could minimize the page. I can't change the volume since I can' t see the volume icon, I can't check my battery level since that doesn't show up. I can't shut down the computer. I don't know where they went, but could anyone help me get them back? Thanks.

this sounds rather odd, and is very likely not related to classic shell
is it possible that the stuff is just off screen? (can you move your mouse down below your screen and click the start button in the bottom corner?

can you go to menu on your TV/screen, and find an option labeled something like 'Size and Position'
or ScreenAspect Ratio. Also try adjusting your screen resolution (right click desktop, select screen resolution)

Changing the screen resolution made no difference at all. I cannot get to the start menu, moving the mouse below the screen area made no difference. I have to hit the windows button on my keyboard in order to get back to my desktop.

could you post a screenshot of what it looks like?
(hit printscreen key, and then open ms paint and then hold ctrl, and press V, then save as a jpg, then upload here)

Ok you are in the chrome 'app'
Click Settings (the 3 lines in the top right corner next to your address bar)
then choose "Relaunch Chrome on the Desktop"
that should solve your problem

Glad i could help, and thats actually one of chromes 'features' (that only appears when the user has windows 8 installed) nothing to do with classic shell
