I have 2 computers with dual monitors that have had the same issue with Classic Shell.
My other single monitor computers have not had the problem.
All are on Windows 10

With Classic Shell installed the following symptoms:
the Search(Cortana) and Task View buttons were inoperable
shift-click and other combination keystrokes as defined in Classic Shell didn't work
program icons on the second monitor did not respond to click, required hover and then click on open window (or windows). Click did not minimize open window

On one computer I reinstalled Classic Shell and the problems all resolved. Running Classic Shell without replacing Start Button image, but works fine if replaced.

On the other computer reinstalling Classic Shell didn't help; can only run Classic Shell with the Start Button image replaced.

Any suggestions?

Do you have any multi-monitor software installed too like DisplayFusion, Ultramon or Actual Multiple Monitors?

No, I am just using the Windows 10 feature to display the taskbar on multiple displays

Go to the start menu settings and uncheck "Start automatically for this user" in the General Behavior tab. Then restart. Does this fix the taskbar?

I tried this. Not sure what you wanted me to check after restarting. When I started CS manually the same issues were there.

This is NOT unchecked on the computer with dual monitors where Classic Shell is working.

The point of disabling the automatic startup was to confirm that the problem was indeed with CS. This is not normal. Possibly CS interacts with another program. Do you have any other software that is messing with the taskbar or Explorer in general?

Not that I know of. Do you have examples of add-ons that might interact badly?

I just figured out that I still had Start 8 installed. I thought I had uninstalled it back when I was on Windows 8.1, when I first started using CS. Uninstalled and the things started working correctly.
