I don't know what other contributory factors there might be, but currently having Classic Shell running causes right-click context menus to immediately crash Explorer, including the shell. This happens when right-clicking on the desktop, desktop items, items in Free Launch Bar, in the Classic Shell start menu, and in Explorer file views and the navigation pane. This only happens when CS is running; if I uninstall it the crashes cease, and even killing its process and restarting the shell instance of Explorer is sufficient to stop the crashes. Recently I cancelled enrollment in the GWX Windows 10 upgrade and rolled back some of the preliminary changes that had been made; I don't know if that is a contributor. Another recent change was upgrading to CS v4.2.4, so I reinstalled v4.1.0, but that too causes the crashes.
I am at a loss how to further troubleshoot this but don't want to abandon Classic Shell as a solution.
P.S. Please forgive the mysterious random meaningless number that some browser extension is adding to this post.
