Hello! After having installed Classic Shell 4.0.2 in Windows 8.1 Eng 64 bit, it appeared menu bars in Control Panel and Network Sharing Center (attached images). At first I installed ClassicShell *without* Classic Explorer and Classic IE and I didn't notice the bars. After, I installed Classic Shell with all features and surely bars were there. Uninstall Classic Shell doesn't restore previous look of Control Panel and Network Sharing Center. Ticking/Unticking "Folder Options -> View -> Alwasys Show Menus" does nothing (actually it's unticked even if the bars are shown), so I don't know how to restore this setting manually.

Installing, reinstalling Classic Shell 4.0.4 does not fix as well.

Sorry if this was already reported but Search function of the forum doesn't allow me to search for the words "menu bar" because they are too common words :D .

If you uninstalled Classic Shell's Explorer component and the menu bar still remains visible in Explorer, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser and delete the ITBar7Layout value there. If you have no other toolbars installed, then the menu bar will get hidden. If there is at least one toolbar installed, the menu bar will show.

Deleting the setting in the registry fixed it! Thanks a lot! By the way, is this a bug in ClassicShell?

It is a bug in Explorer. It doesn't handle well when toolbars are uninstalled.

Agreed. Knowing this, couldn't ClassicShell track the original setting (eg. no value) when installing and attempt to restore it when uninstalling
if there's confidence that there were no external user interventions on it (external: other than ClassicShell install/regular use)? If this behavior is related to a single setting in the registry it could be safe to do.

The setting contains the state of the menu bar and all toolbars. If you have multiple toolbars installed, then it becomes quite tricky.
