After a failed update the computer restarted and has since given me a blank screen, no nothing. Right click gives me nothing. How ever with control alt delete I can get to the task manager, which I can access the computer through.

Just not sure how to get my desktop back,
Please help.

thanks

What update failed? A Windows update or a Classic Shell update?
Sounds like Explorer fails to run. If you suspect this is a Classic Shell issue you can use the task manager to run a repair install or even to completely uninstall Classic Shell.

Run Explorer.exe from Task Manager's File Menu -> New Task to load the Desktop. Then uninstall Classic Shell from Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Now restart and see if Explorer/Desktop loads correctly. If it still doesn't then the problem isn't related to Classic Shell. If it does, then you can reinstall Classic Shell again.
