Post subject:	Problem with comp after uninstall of classic shell
I uninstalled classic shell. Restarted windows 8.1 Windows did update. Restarted windows again. Asks for my password, I enter my password and then I get a black blank screen. Only thing visible on the screen is the mouse cursor. Anyone have any idea what's up, I'm not a computer guy so have no clue what to do. I can do Ctrl-Alt-Del and it brings up the usuall Lock, Switch user, Sign out, Change password, Task manager. I can go into task manager, and open software from it. But I don't have the regular display? Any idea what to do to get back to normal windows 8 display?

See if you can run explorer.exe manually from Task Manager. It is possible that Classic Shell didn't install correctly. If so, run the installer again, reboot, then uninstall, reboot again. Do not use clever uninstaller software like Revo or CCleaner.

I am having the same problem as the OP. I have tried to run explorer.exe but nothing happens. Any other options?

If all else fails, try to run the Classic Shell installer from Task Manager and choose the "Remove" option. If the problem was caused by Classic Shell then uninstalling it should unblock you.
