HI
after running update 4.0.4 I lost my sidebar which had a 3rd party desktop calendar with all my appointments I cant get the sidebar back
also when >NET framework has problems and restore did not work properly cheers dan

None of these issues sound related to Classic Shell. You can uninstall it and see if that makes a difference.
