Hm, so is it a crash or a temporary freeze? To catch a crash you need to use the first command line "procdump -e explorer.exe" and leave it running until the start menu crashes. |

Are you saying that you see something shaped like the mouse cursor (the arrow) near the bottom of the screen? If so, it sounds like some program is trying to manipulate the mouse position, maybe to simulate a mouse click. Classic Shell doesn't do that. Classic Shell tries to simulate pressing Win+D ... |

Type "procdump -n 10 -s 1 explorer.exe", don't press Enter. Click the start button - if the menu doesn't open immediately, click in the command window and press Enter. The goal is to capture as many dumps as possible while the menu is non-responsive. |

The network connections is not going to be a problem. I was asking if you have links to files (like exes) that are on the network. In such case the start menu must access the network to get the icon. To get to the bottom of this, follow the instructions here: http://classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.... |

Classic Shell should uninstall without leaving any changes to your system. To be sure, see if there is a folder C:\Program Files\Classic Shell (if you installed in the default location), and if there is, delete that folder. If that doesn't help, it is likely you installed some other program that mes... |

Sorry, not possible. The icons are only loaded when the toolbar is created. The only thing you can do is enable or disable custom commands. Look at the end of the Settings section in the help how to force a refresh. |

ClassicIE9 will not be grayed out, just unchecked by default (a red X). You can run the installer again, then select Change and should be able to add the missing component. |

Is it possible you added some link to the menu that points to a network location? Network access can be slow, particularly if the network is currently disconnected. |

The size of buttons often depends on the font size. You can try finding a way to increase the font size. One way is by changing the DPI setting. |

If you have a way to prevent users from accessing the HKCU (like with regedit), you can adjust their settings and then set EnableSettings to 0 to disable the settings UI. If you set Enabl... |

That's by design. Look at the tooltip for that setting. The idea is that if the bottom/left corner is mostly a problem if the start button is there. If you want to disable every hot corner, you have a setting for that too. |

The border is shown when the opacity is "solid". You need some other setting like "region" or "alpha" to get rid of the border. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you will need a bitmap for the menu if you want to use something other than "solid". |

Right. There are way too many settings you can tweak, and they need to work together. Providing individual settings for all of them will be pretty confusing for the average user. And the usability won't be much better than editing a skin file directly. |

I'd rather not. If you can change the background color to any color, then the text color, the selection color, etc, will all have to be customizable. It will become quite messy for the average user. Also for many skins the base color is part of a single bitmap, so it is not possible to change it jus... |

Opening the menu on hover is a basic feature. All menus do that, even the standard Windows 7 menu. Try it - open the Win7 menu, and move the mouse over Recent Item. The Recent Items menu will open and the focus will be taken away from the search box. |
