OK, see if you can find the files anywhere on your system. Do a full search, including any non-indexed locations. Also look in the Recycle Bin. If you can't find them, then I guess they are gone for good. If you find the missing folders, you can open the properties for the Documents library and add ... |

Are you certain the libraries were there after you upgraded to Windows 8, but before you installed Classic Shell? As I said before, there is nothing in Classic Shell that can mess with libraries. Also, the libraries are nothing but a collection of links to other folders. So maybe your files are stil... |

What he said. The way Classic Shell skips the Metro screen is by executing code to simulate the Win+D key combination. If you uninstalled it, there will not be any code left to do this. Must be some other software. |

One possibility is that the service is crashing, and the system disables it by setting to Manual. However that doesn't explain why it starts after 30 seconds. It shouldn't start at all. |

Classic Shell uses the setting to create its own fonts, which are only used at run-time and not stored anywhere. If there is any lasting effect on the system caused by this, that means something has detected the fonts used by the start menu and modified some system settings. This is HIGHLY unlikely.... |

Depends on what features you want to disable. To exit the start menu, right-click on the start button and select Exit. For other components like Classic Explorer or Classic IE9 there is a way using the regsvr32 tool, but it is a bit convoluted. Let me know if you need more specifics. |

The Classic Shell setting only controls the fonts used by the start menu. No other applications are affected. If you are seeing font changes elsewhere in your system, it must be some other setting or software. |

You can upload them somewhere and pm me with the link. Also, I suspect all differences are in the HKLM hive. If you remove the rest, I suspect the size will shrink considerably. You can also trim the files to only the areas around the diffs. |

Were there many files in those libraries before, or you are talking about the sample files that come with Windows? Classic Shell doesn't delete files and doesn't do anything to the libraries. |

a. If you installed the Classic Explorer or the Classic IE9 components you should see some addons from IvoSoft, as shown here: http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#explorer_toolbar Are you not seeing those?
b. The classic start menu doesn't search for files, only for programs. |

OK, The taskbar is not part of Classic Explorer. Classic Explorer adds a toolbar to the Windows Explorer windows.
Do you have your taskbar set to auto-hide? Does it hide when you maximize another application, like Explorer? |
