filemenu tools would work fine for most uses..

u cant believe how may times i've needed that one though.. probably most people dont.. i'd go with filemenu tools one, its a bit more complicated though, imo

@ FileRenamer, there are many more difficult to use programs, that can do the similar things to FileRenamer, but this one is just drop down lists, its way more simple.. I used to use one where i had to add all my commands with special syntax to get the job done.. its made life much simpler.. for tho...

maybe u can try opening regedit and going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don't load and right-click it, save a back-up, then delete that key completely and see if that doesnt fix it..

if you launch programs from a custom folder, such as a "Program Launcher" folder, be sure you have enabled the folder containing all your programs to "Track Recent Items", or they wont appear in your Recent Items Menu

i understand you now.. but in my explorer window, no matter what folder I click in the left column, the right column is automatically focused, so i cant even use the up/down arrows to navigate through the folders, since every new folder selected focus goes immediately to the contents of that folder ...

actually, what are the rules for "recent Items"? There is a command entitled "RecentItems" and when I add it, it contains the list of items from the Recent Programs Menu, in the Start menu.. just moves it from a scrolling list to the new folder but it seems to add programs sporad...

i think "DocumentsItem" should default to the name "Recent Documents" instead of "Recent Items" to avoid possible conflicts with recent Programs or Recent Apps Folders, which are created by the "RecentItems" function

out of curiosity, the command is search_box, and the label is $Menu.SearchBox what does the syntax in $Menu.SearchBox refer to, and what is its function? and same thing with search_box, is simply having the word search_box turning it into a search field? and is there a way to add a second search box...
