I looked a little for file location, then gave up.
I just made screenshots and removed the background with Gimp.
Problem- when I use Classic shell, the windows image has dropped down and shifted to left by one pixel.
I included the original screenshot 125 % size and other one with extra pixels. |

The settings option is called "Show Start screen shortcut"
In "Main Menu" settings tab near the bottom of the list.
or use the settings search box to find it (see picture)

| Put the XML backup file anywhere you want. The important part is that it gets loaded with the backup/load button of settings. | If you made a backup XML file on the HP desktop, then loaded that XML file on Gateway desktop, it should set everything same unless, the skin is not one included in Classic Shell program. Copy over modded skin and put in the skins folder. Possibly, Gateway desktop is not set up for Windows 7 classic... |

Extra note
If you just want a normal menu size image without having to resize it after download, try this site:
https://www.desktopbackground.org
After finding an image that will look ok with black or white text,
download it with Horizontal 800 x Vertical 600 size setting. |

By turning off the shutdown button, and replacing with the shutdown, restart shortcuts,
one can just have the glyphs on the second column.
Now, where have I seen that look before? |

| OK, I'm stuck in the mud again. I went back to my old Windows 8.1 harddrive. Downloaded, and installed earlier version 1.55 Segoe mdl2 assets.ttf font. So, on a Windows 8.1 system, CSM start menu skin can show the Win 10 glyphs, but still has the same problem with the text tails cut off. Too bad :cry: |

Microsoft re-released 1809 today. I read they are still fixing some small issues to come out later in the month.
I just updated with the smaller updates to get build 17763.134

Hey, you know what? I didn't even think about noise on the taskbar,
for I was using Win 10 default taskbar with noise built in.
I want to play with the taskbar image now too, but later today.
Your taskbar image looks better on my computer with taskbar settings on tile, instead of stretching. |
