I keep having this recurrent issue where Win7 starts 'optimizing' folders for images and all of these expandable trees are created for dates, file type, etc. To get them back I need to go in and manually set each folder to optimize for general items. It's really annoying and should be a simple featu...

I tried using this and it doesn't work, plus the hacker is incompatible with newer version of win 7.

Instead look for a program called 'Windows 7 Command Bar Tweaker'

It has GUI and will allow you to easily auto-hide, perma-hide, or restore and works on all version of win 7.
