Thanks again GauravK. I'll be looking out for it. I'm an efficiency freak and this would certainly allow quicker organized access to content. I would love to have: apps | projects | data1 | data2 | control | comms and my little world would be a happier place! ps. should i call this 'solved'?

Thanks GauravK, that's a pretty handy feature. But it doesn't quite give the desired effect :( as this method will mix the contents of the two folders: ____ folder 1&2 contents mixed ____ sub1 > sub2 > ____ Also, you can't include certain folders in Libraries - ie My Computer, Control Panel, Lib...

Classic Shell allows for a 1 column or 2 column layout. The first is pinned apps/folders and recent apps/folders; The second is fully customizable. It would be extremely useful to have more fully customizable columns. It seems possible code-wise (says the amateur coder). thanks, steve
