Thanks for continuing to help me. Based on your advice, I googled removing favorites from the explorer navigation pane in Windows 7. I found several tutorials on the registrty hack. I checked them and found that my machine had the hack already so I restored the registry value to default. Voila, Favo...

I don't have favorites disabled in Windows Explorer, but they don't show in the navigation pane like they do on machines not using Classic Shell Explorer. The top item in the pane is "Desktop." I've gone through the settings several times, and tried googling but have not found how to inclu...
