I had the same problem, only since 4.0.2 CS seems to "stick" in the bottom left corner (I already had hot corners off, start menu replacement

| Installed 4.0.2, which seems to be more stable with Windows 8.1, incl. starting at boot (4.0 and 4.0.1 for some reason didn't start properly and refused to show up on the taskbar, only after starting up explicetly). | this project is fairly actively worked on, and will likely come with fixes shortly after, or even before blue is released. As far as backup plan in the event of personal crisis; I don't think there is a second coder off hand to jump in and take his place, although in the long run, classic shell may... |

EDIT: looks like it's only available as update and even worse you''ll loose all apps and settings. Don't want to spend a full

| AFAIK, the new start-button on the desktop will always be there. So the developer(s ?) of Classic Shell will have to figure out a way to intercept a click on the icon and show the "old" menu instead of the start screen. However, it's not that different (I guess) from what it's done in Vist... |
