Classic Start Menu Topic: Dumb Question from a newbee

Anyone have any idea why I can not get cagle.exe and light.exe or any other of the exe's to install on my windows 8 system. I have installed wix but no exe's are installing. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help. I had sdk 7.1 installed but not registered. All most have it working Just keep getting an error that candle is not an internal or external command. I now have wix 3.6 on system I also tried 3.7 and 4.0 same thing. I did a search but could not find anything to do with a file cand...

Thanks here is a screen shot of some of the errors. I and using windows 8 64bit. I VS8 and I think sdk 7.1 on system. I also have vs10, vs12 and vs12express on the system.

I am trying to learn how to compile programs and when I try to compile the code I keep getting a few errors. Is this the right place to ask for help with this? If it is I will post my error here. Most are the same thing.
