Fair enough. Do you use it in Windows 8? Kernel driver crashes would be a blue screen which wouldn't be fun, but I'll give it a try.

Thanks for your response. UxStyle makes me nervous, especially on a work PC, because it includes a system service and a kernel driver. Do you really need a driver to modify the shell? One thing that was in Windows 7 and then removed in Windows 8.x is "Window Color and Appearance" (see http://www.7tutorials.com/geeky-way-personalizing-windows-themes for an example). Color management in Windows 8 is far more restrictive, for reasons I don't understand. I'm trying to get a...

Hmm. Apologies, I think this might be due to remote desktop. Sometimes I remote desktop to a Win 8.1 PC from another Win 8.1 PC. When the rdp session is maximized and when unlocking the client PC, the RDP session goes straight to Metro. I've got Classic Shell running on both PCs. Probably has nothin...

Ever since I upgraded Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, unlocking my PC goes straight to the Metro screen instead of the Desktop. I have "Skip Metro Screen" ticked on in Classic Start Menu 4.1.0. Any ideas?
