1--I have a new problem with "Copy as path." I just set up a 3rd machine with Win 7, then ran Classic Shell. There is no "copy as path" among the choices for the Toolbar, and no icon. I've combed through them a few times. It's the same OS and the same version of CS. O_o Is there ... |

The shortcuts above the basic menu are the ones I put there, not MS's list. I'm an iconoclast. They're the ones I would use most often while on the web.
Got it working fine now. |

You've been working on this 15 months!! I thought I was the only one using a classic XP look! I went through a lot of bother for days adjusting CS, not knowing you had one here. But I never use the deadly XP gray-and-slate-blue color scheme, always combos of light colors. I've cheated on the separat... |

It's still telling me there's a wrong character in the xml. Fuggeddaboudit.
I did the StartMenu manually, and it looks good, so a copy that one will be the backup.
Thanks for your help. |

If that doesn't work, I'm just going to screenshot my StartMenu settings in the program and duplicate them manually on the Gateway, as the 2 machines aren't networked yet.
Thanks for your time, and I love your balloons. |

Here;s something. In the Program folder on this (HP)system,
classicelxplorersettings.exe works fine
but classicstartmenu.exe has just stopped working. Maybe that's why the file is weird. I can't wipe and reinstall the program until I have 2 good backups. |

It's not the same system, but 2 separate machines, this HP and a Gateway I set up this week. OK, I see it made copies in Temp too. If it's working on this one, how could it have weird characters? I just backed up a 2nd time, and the file is identical. |

I don't bother with skins. I don't use IE, so it's just 2 sets of settings. It copied the Explorer settings, but it says "Parsing Error--[the StartMenu settings] has an invalid character in the text content."--attached. CS has been running just fine in this computer for 3 years. I don't kn... |

I have 2 desktops. I always arrange my Start Menu like this attachment. On this, the HP, I have one column with commonly used links on top, and the Program Menu at the bottom opens to a 2nd column. Below Programs I've chosen which links I want. "Documents" is recent doc accessed. It was al... |

Win 7Ult CS 4 In Explorer, I've chosen to show the preview pane of graphic files, and I turn it off for other files. I don't know if that's the same setting for thumbnails on the desktop, but I don't want thumbnails there because they're too small to use anyway. My attachment shows 3 of these files.... |

Forgot to say I have Win7, which doesn't ask that question. But the video shows that Run doesn't save user's History. I knew I had seen it somewhere. I got it back in Start Menu Settings in Control Panel, checking "Store and Display recently opened programs (doesn't say it's the "Run"... |

Some of the commands I type into "Run" have complex spacing and punctuation. Before I installed Classic Shell, the command list stayed. I've been searching through Classic Start Menu for a way to retain the Run list, but can't find it. |

Fixed. Was that the feature to rebuild the icon cache or is it elsewhere? Where are the skins? Does CS have automatic backup, or is it manual? |

First, tell me if this is a CS setting, or a Windows setting. I've lost the icons for each of the 60+ programs in the Start Menu.
If it's a CS setting, is there an automatic backup someone in the folder? |

I use my machine for work. Is there a feature in Classic Shell for making the tabs on the taskbar a little bit longer? Changing resolution didn't work. |

For Win7, is one preferable to the other? I have 3.6.8 and 4.3.0.
