Thanks! I found that item already checked, but I had turned off searching for files in Classic Shell.

Is there a way to make the search box also search the desktop in addition to the "programs" tree for links to installed desktop programs? I tried to figure out how to do it using the tutorials - adding a custom item to the search box - but all I succeeded in doing was crashing classic shel...

How does the new MS search data gathering impact searches done via classic shell? Are our wants and desires being beamed to the mother ship?
