It would be definitely a more correct solution than the current implementation of w8classic. Returning to the subject of Windows 8.1 [Dark Active Button] theme, it's a good idea to apply Windows default theme first. To be honest, it's the only way I was able to make it work. Unsigned themes service ...

You can temporarily enable or disable Classic theme by changing the access rights to \Sessions\X\Windows\ThemeSection object (where X is the number of the current session) using for instance, ObjDir utility: https://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?article=42 Unfortunately it works only for sessions w...

That was my fault - I had the old version of w8classic. Sorry for such a stupid reason.

Start it as admin That's an unwanted action. I'll look closer at your links, though. Thanks. There's another issue, and it's more serious one. With w8classic, my Firefox window title looks like this: http://i90.fastpic.ru/thumb/2017/0213/ed/922aa0e51dcbc6c9c4f805fa68277ced.jpeg Any ideas?

I rename ClassicThemeA.exe, run it, get a prompt to install, press Yes. Then I run it again, get a prompt to uninstall, press No. Then I gog off and log on, run it again, get a prompt to uninstall. The behaviour is the same as if I didn't rename it.

It may be a bit difficult to copy Wi-Fi key from KeePass on the login screen. The only issue is that we need admin ...

SetWindowCompositionAttribute.exe's change gets broken at log off and on switch user action. So we need to schedule a task to launch SetWindowCompositionAttribute.exe class Shell_TrayWnd accent 0 0 0 0 with triggers "At log on of any user" (+ "Delay task for 3 sec") and "On ...

Splitwirez , your ClassicTheme.exe seems to work properly under Win81x64, except one thing: the taskbar becomes white, and the font color is white, too. I didn't find a way to change it. The same is under Win81x86.

Why does it change THAT...? I don't get white titles with that theme on 8.1 It's my fault again: I changed the desktop to the solid color and forgot to change "Color" from Automatic to something else. I should note that M$ did everything to make the process of selecting even harder, again...

What's not good with Windows 8.1 [Dark Active Button] theme is white window titles. Very inconvenient if there's a window in a window (RDC for example). I have missed a couple of times already.

In Windows 8.1, the currently active task on the taskbar looks almost the same as the inactive ones. It would be nice to be able to fix it with Classic Shell.
