the latest PCs in question were installed using USB media, if i recall corrently based on techbench ISO and manually enhanced by adding ei.cfg for edition selection option https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/software-download/techbench the build running on the PCs is always the latest win update: win 10...

the old value which did not work was "pc_settings". after i changed it as suggested to "ms-settings:" it did work. i noticed this problem by now also on a 3rd PC. it seems there is a bug in CS or win10 changed some behaviour with latest patches? not sure how far back this issue g...

good idea. trying to run "ms-settings:" from run dialog silently does nothing.
