Ha, never mind, it appears I was able to fix the issue after all! I just had to manually calibrate my touchscreen to make it work as intended, apparently default touch calibration was off on my tablet.Gaurav

I've disabled hot corners in Windows options and in CS options as well.

Start is buggy for me both with and without Classic Shell it seems (I've tried multiple alternative Start buttons from CS to no success), so it must be Windows' fault at its core, I just thought that maybe there is some kind of a blind spot in the way touch active area is placed that can be eradicat...

So I'm not sure how much of a bug that is technically because I guess it originates from the base Win 8.1 and not Classic Shell, but since Classic Shell already has lots of options to modify the Start button, chances are it is possible to fix the problem with CS.
