I can add, though, that alt-tabbing out of the full-screen app, and then back into it, makes the start button disappear.

Never mind that, it happens with all three settings, but not always. I can't pin down what makes it happen or not happen really.

I'm still having this issue on Windows 10 with an NVidia card using the latest version.
~~I am using a PNG image as a "custom" start button as opposed to Aero or classic. When I set the start button to Aero or classic it doesn't happen.~~
