| You haven't stumbled upon Search Agent Ransack yet, huh? It goes way back. Very simple and very advanced; you can do anything with it. It's freeware, and I think it's put out by some very prestigious company; I don't know much about that. Agent Ransack became quite geek-popular quite a few years ago... |

| —It saved Windows 7, too. For me, the Up-Arrow on the toolbar was enough, all by itself, to stay with XP. I went to Windows 7 only after Classic Shell came out and provided that Up-Arrow. | I don't use Windows 8. I'm reading this just for interest, and I'm unclear about one item. —The available Microsoft updates, optional and otherwise, normally can be right-clicked one at a time and thence marked as "Don't show this update again" or something like that. But MS's wording isn'... |
